Obituary for James West Conlon Jr.

James W. Conlon, Jr., 64, of Metuchen, New Jersey, died Oct0ber 31 st , 2023 at his home in Bel Air,
Maryland with his family and friends at his side.

Jim was born April 18, 1959. He grew up in Metuchen, NJ where he attended St. Joseph’s High School,
then went on to receive his Bachelor of Science from New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). Upon
graduating, Jim went to work for the Department of Defense, US Army as a civilian at Fort Monmouth,
NJ. Jim was active in the Emergency Services community as an EMS instructor, EMS volunteer on the
Metuchen First Aid Squad, and helped to establish the Knights of Life, a motorcycle club with
membership by medical support personnel. Jim and his family relocated to Bel Air, MD., in 2011 when
Fort Monmouth closed. Up until his death, Jim was working at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds, where he
proudly worked for the US Army for over 40 years. He was also an avid woodturner and member of the
Baltimore Area Turners.

Jim is survived by his wife of 30 years, Wendy, his daughter Ashley (29) and his son James (25). He is
also survived by his three sisters, brother- and sister-in-law, and three nieces. As well as the numerous
young people he called his “adopted kids”. He is pre-deceased by his mother and father.
