A Valued Member

Jim was a long time, valued member of the Baltimore Area Turners, our local woodturning club.  He was one of our most reliable members, always showing up for and contributing to our monthly meetings.  When we would have offsite demonstrations, Jim could always be counted on to be the first to volunteer to transport gear, assist with setup and takedown, and be certain everything was in its' place before leaving.
Jim was an important part of the club, and he will be missed.  Our condolences to his family.

Inspiration and Mentor

Jim was a great friend through the woodturners group, and was both a mentor to me, but also a source of inspiration and positive influence to my daughter who joined when she was quite young. He guided her through techniques and topics, and most recently chatted with her during the external woodworking show. She mentioned she recently remembered his compliments and encouragement and was also quite saddened at his passing. I deeply appreciate and am grateful for his friendship, and for his service to our country.

From Metuchen First Aid Squad (

Jim was a member of Metuchen EMS from May 1981 until November 1993.  There are only 3 active members remaining from Jim's time with the squad, but we all remember him fondly and the unique persepective he brought to our organization.

We offer our condolences to his family, and we say thankyou to them for sharing him with us. As all volunteer families know, sometimes the famliy comes second.

Condolences to the Conlon Family

I am so sorry to learn of Jim's passing.  I had lost touch with Jim for a few years and had reached out a few months ago vis MS Teams at work.  He wrote me back saying he was on long term sick leave due to cancer and I never heard back from him again.  I have a lot of fond memories of Jim from Ft Monmouth, I met him in 1992 and always remember him being quiet but had a wicked sense of humor, but always a good person and really cared about his family and friends.  I remember meeting his wife Wendy and daughter Ashley years ago, what a wonderful family he has.  I send my condolences out to the Conlon family on their loss.
