Obituary for Haskell Jacey Ann

Jacey Haskell, 44, awesome mother to Ayden Haskell, 14, and Kasch Torres, 12, adored daughter of Linda Cornell of Bridgeport and Michael Haskell of Greenville, SC, precious family member, and indispensable friend and support to countless many, was tragically taken from our midst as a result of an automobile accident on Sunday, September 8, 2024. Her passing is an unfathomable loss to everyone who knew her.

To say that Jacey was full of life is not an understatement. She was one of those few individuals who, quite literally, lit up a room with her presence-the brightest light! Her laugh was legend. If she laughed, you laughed with her-and she would be looking at you to be sure you got the joke. Her death has devastated everyone who knew her.
This kind of thing is not supposed to happen. Our babies are born, they grow up as we grow old; they thrive and succeed as seasons change from summer's warmth to winter's frost. They carry on. This is the cycle of life. This is what we expect. This is what we can manage. It's a simple premise, really, that we die before our children.

Coming to terms with such a loss requires a kind of surrender that defies ego. We literally have to 'let go and let God' or whatever it is that gives purpose to our existence.
We will never have the answers to 'why'.

Suffice to say that Jacey's life, though imperfect as are all our lives, was one lived with anticipation of good and deeply felt love. She strived to be the best version of herself, the best Mom to her boys, the best daughter, the best friend. She was always a beacon who radiated love, hope and positivity to everyone around her. She was an encourager of others.

She impacted so many peoples lives in unexpected ways and made us all better people for it. Jacey was smart, hilarious and charismatic. She was warm and thoughtful. She was tough and tender at the same time. Without a doubt hers was truly "a life well lived"
