Obituary for RICHARD F PETROWSKI

Richard Fredrick Petrowski, 96 formerly of Exeter Township, passed away peacefully March 27, 2023 in the Reading Hospital. He was the husband of the late Anna Josephine (Maciejewski) Petrowski, who passed away in 2014. Born August 26, 1926, in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Felix Andrew and Mary Anna (Ruszkiewicz) Pietrowski, Sr. Richard proudly served his country in the United States Navy in WWII. He served on the USS Willis #395 in the Pacific and on the USS Alger #101 in the Atlantic as a gunners mate 3rd class. He was employed by Firestone Tire and Rubber/ Occidental Chemical Corporation, Pottstown for 40 years. Richard was a past member of the Polish Falcons, Reading, the Daniel Boone Rod & Gun Club. He enjoyed raising pheasants, trap shooting and cooking at the gun club. He also enjoyed big and small game hunting and the hunting cabin in Potter County "Elchestco". Surviving are his children: Barbara A., widow of Frank A. Frick, Wernersville, PA; Joyce M., widow of John A. Fritz, Reading, PA ; Mary Ellen, wife of C. Scott Woodward of Wyomissing, PA and Christine E., widow of Steven A. Mundell, Birdsboro, PA. Also surviving are 12 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren and 9 Great Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his brother Felix Andrew Petrowski, Jr. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday March 31st at the Chapel of Resurrection at 11am. Burial will follow in the chapel. A viewing will be held Friday from 9:30 -10:30 am in the Stitzel Funeral Home, 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale PA 19605.
