The Life of Jane Caroline Van Valkenburgh
Jane M. VanValkenburgh, wife of the late James Morgan VanValkenburgh, born September 25, 1934 in Milford, CT to Marion (Mahogany) Miles and Ralph Sylvester Miles died March 28, 2024 at home in Manchester, NH with her daughters at her side. She was a graduate of Milford High School class of '52, took some courses at Butler Business School and also some at Texas Southmost College in Brownsville Texas where she lived for 38 years.
She was predeceased by brothers Edward Miles (Alice) and Robert Miles (Dot) and sisters Mary White (Marc) and Ruth Hassenmayer (Skip). She is survived by daughters Betty Maffei (Gary) and Carol VanValkenburgh, grandies Michelle, Kevin (Samantha) and Keith Maffei, and Adam and Diane Brown, and great grandson Caysen Maffei, as well as sister-in-law Kay Birkmaier and many nieces, nephews and close friends, especially Joan Scott.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 11, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the United Church of Christ, 30 Ormond St., Milford, CT. Memorial contributions can be made to Future in Sight, 25 Walker St., Concord, NH 03301 or American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
