The Life of Charleen A Terrell

Charleen Ann Terrell (nee Blessing), age 80, passed away in Trumbull, CT on November 15, 2023.

Charleen was born in Trenton, NJ, the oldest of four daughters, to Charles and Alice Blessing. Despite moving frequently in a military family, she was a member of the first graduating class to have attended all four years at Notre Dame Catholic High School in Lawrence Township, NJ. She enjoyed playing basketball and made many lifelong friends there.

Charleen met her husband, Jerry Terrell, when she was 18 years old, and they were married in 1963. They had over 60 years of a loving and fun-filled marriage. They raised their family in Fairfield, CT, lived in Easton, CT for 10 years, and finally settled in Trumbull, CT.

Her career focused on accounting, working for many companies throughout her life and she managed her own business for over 35 years before retiring in 2019.

Charleen was easy-going, hard-working, kind and compassionate. She welcomed friends and family alike into both her home and her life. Charleen and her husband enjoyed camping, visiting friends and family, near and far. Together they traveled extensively both domestically and internationally. But most of all, she loved getting together with her children and grandchildren. She was always up for attending graduations, scouting events, concerts, art shows, ball games, swim meets - all she needed to know was the time and place.

Charleen is survived by her husband, Jerry; her two children, Leann Terrell Ratner and David Terrell and her four grandchildren, Zachary and Benjamin Ratner and Declan and Clarissa Terrell. She is also survived by two of her sisters, Alice Coombs and Kathy Fajardo. She was predeceased by her parents and sister, Patricia Palmer.

Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Charleen's life, held at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield, CT on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org .
