The Life of Joan St.Clair

Joan St.Clair of Vinton, Va., passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis K. Dingledine and Edith V. Dingledine; her husband, Kenneth O. St.Clair; and her brother, Karl M. Dingledine.

Surviving is her son, Kenneth Neal St.Clair (Amanda); brother, Charles M. Dingledine (Patsy); sisters, her twin sister, Jean D. Truman of Hardy, Patricia Whitmore (John) of Fort Myers, Fla., Sue Burks (Billy) of Vinton, and Brenda Miller (John) of Roanoke; grandchildren, Seaira and Daniel; and many nieces and nephews.

Joan had a long battle with Cancer beginning in 2005. In 2008 she had a stem cell transplant at Duke, N.C. Her twin sister, Jean was her donor.

Joan graduated from William Byrd High School and worked at Cundiff's Drug during high school and after graduation. She loved genealogy and spent hours and years tracing her family's history. Joan also assisted her friends as far away as London and Germany. She was very active in raising money for Cancer Research when she was able.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Randell Rhea, Molly Truman, Doris Bare, Tony Reed, and Annie Pollard.

Graveside Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 14, 2023, at Mountain View Cemetery in Vinton with Pastor Jeff Richards officiating.
