The Life of Leroy F. Brown
Leroy F. "Jock" Brown, 97, of Topton, died Thursday, September 1, 2022, in Phoebe, Allentown. He was the loving husband of Jacqueline C. "Jackie" (Winter) Brown. They were married June 25, 1949. Born in the Village of Dryville, Rockland Township, Leroy was a son of the late George and Verna (Schade) Brown.
Leroy was a member of Christ (Mertz) Lutheran Church, Dryville, where he was a former member of church council, having served as president. A 'Navy Frogman,' Jock honorably and faithfully served our country as a member of the United States Navy, during both World War II and the Korean War. He was a graduate of Kutztown High School, Class of 1942. In 1941, as a junior, he was a member of the State Championship Track Relay Team.
Jock was employed by Caloric Corporation, at its Topton location, for over 35 years, retiring as Warehouse Manager in 1986. He then worked as an Auctioneer's Assistant for Zettlemoyer's Auction Company, Fogelsville from 1984 to 2000. From 2000 to 2016, Leroy worked at Jackie & Daughter Flower Shop, a business owned by his wife and daughter.
Leroy was an elected councilman for The Borough of Topton; a member of Huguenot Lodge #377 F.&A.M., Kutztown; Served as the former Interlocutor of Brandywine Minstrels; worked as a performer at the Kutztown Folk Festival for over 50 years; and was a member of Grundsau Lodge #1.
Leroy is survived by his wife of 73 years, Jacqueline "Jackie" C. (Winter) Brown, a guest at Phoebe, Allentown; Daughters: Tonia W. (Brown) Alexander, Hamburg; Shawn C. Brown, Kutztown; Shannon K. (Brown) Sibiski, Kutztown. Other survivors include grandchildren: Joshua L. Alexander; Kirby A. Sibisky; Beckham B. Sibisky. There are also great grandchildren: Kenzie R. Alexander; and Finn Alexander.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Leroy's life will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with The Reverend Arthur L. Hahn, officiating. There will be a visitation with the family from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family in Hope Cemetery, Dryville.

Leroy was a great guy. he was never to busy to say hello or chat with you he had a great sense of humor. I loved to see him in the topton minstrel show. now that he is up in heaven with some of his buddies from the show i'm sure he will liven up the place May god bless him and rest in peace
