Great time at the lodge

Merle and Lorraine are so generous and kind. It was very nice spending time with them at the lodge. I fondly remember a trip to the ice cream shop where Merle treated everybody to ice cream!

Lost my "spirititual father"

Merle was like a "spiritual father" to me and a long-time friend.  After spending almost 30 years with Merle and Lorraine at weekly bible study home groups, theirs and mine, and attending Hopewell Elverson with them (and getting water baptized as a result of our bible study), and many, many dinners and gatherings together, I can't find the words to express and convey my love and gratitude for Merle (and Lorraine).  He was a gentle, yet very strong influence in my adult life and, though him, I was introduced to many people who came through our home groups.  Every person was important to him, and his primary hope for all he met, was that they would find personal salvation in Jesus Christ.

My favorite song that I can think of for Merle at this time is: "Knowing What I know About Heaven" by Guy Penrod and Sarah Darling.  The video can be found on Youtube or in the link below (if I did it right).

This song brings sorrowful, yet happy tears to my eyes as I sing it for Merle right now, but the good news is, that I reside in the hope of Jesus Christ, believing that I will rejoice with Merle again in Glory!!  I believe that when Merle knelt before Jesus he heard the words: well done my good and faithful servant.  Rest in Peace Merle, love always, Sam

AMEN
